The Annual Shrine Circus, is one of the largest fund-raising events sponsored by the Shriners. The Shrine Circus provides a quality, fun-filled, family experience with proceeds going to a great cause, the good work of Shriners in your community. Breakthrough Atlanta, hosted by the Lovett School, and now the Atlanta Youth Academy, opened in 1996.  Part of the successful Breakthrough Collaborative national program, Breakthrough Atlanta increases educational opportunity for motivated middle school students from metro Atlanta public schools and inspires talented high school and college students to pursue careers in education.

Harlem Lacrosse is a nonprofit that uses lacrosse, along with year-round academic support and mentoring, to help more than 1,300 middle and high school students in Baltimore, Boston, Los Angeles, New York, and Philadelphia succeed as students, athletes, and citizens.

The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is the largest independent organization devoted to melanoma. Committed to the support of medical research in finding effective treatments and eventually a cure for melanoma, the MRF also educates patients and physicians about prevention, diagnosis and the treatment of melanoma. The MRF is an active advocate for the melanoma community, helping to raise awareness of this disease and the need for a cure. The Smile Train help provide free cleft surgery and related treatment for children who would otherwise never receive it. Helping these children is the mission of The Smile Train.

 

Special Olympics, founded by Eunice Kennedy Shriver, creates new opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics is often the only place where they have an opportunity to participate in their communities and develop belief in themselves. From a backyard summer camp to a global movement, Special Olympics has been changing lives and attitudes for more than 40 years.

 

United Way is engaged in nearly 1,800 communities across more than 40 countries and territories worldwide.  We are focused on creating community-based and community-led solutions that strengthen the cornerstones for a good quality of life: education, financial stability and health.

 

Wounded Warrior Project, (WWP) serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, co-incident to their military service on or after September 11, 2001 and their families.  On that date, America watched in horror as approximately 3,000 people died including hundreds of firefighters and rescue workers.  Many warriors reorganized a sense of duty to volunteer for the military following these tragic events.
